  Can I also install the 2wayPearl using the car's seat belt?

  No, that is not allowed. The 2wayPearl can only be used in combination with the Maxi Cosi 2wayFix

  Can I install the 2wayPearl on the front passenger seat?

  Yes if the car has ISOFIX anchor points on the front seat. When you use the 2wayPearl rearward facing it is important to always deactivate the airbag. When you use the 2wayPearl forward facing we recommend to deactivate the airbag or placing the front passenger seat in the rearmost position. Most cars, however, are not fitted with ISOFIX anchor points on the front passenger seat. This means that it is often not possible to install the car seat on the passenger seat. 

  From when can I use the 2wayPearl forward facing?

  We recommend using the 2wayPearl as long as possible (until 105 cm or approx. 4 years) in a rearward facing position since this enhances the safety for your child in frontal collisions. The 2wayPearl can be used though in a forward facing position when your child is at least 15 months old. By then the child’s neck is strong enough to withstand the impulsive force of an average frontal collision.

  How many sitting and sleeping positions does the 2wayPearl have?

  The 2wayPearl has four comfortable positions - from a sitting to a sleeping position - and can be easily adjusted from the front of the seat. When using the 2wayPearl in a rearward-facing position, the maximal recline position may only be used for a child with a maximum length of 97cm

  I am unable to adjust the headrest on the 2wayPearl. What should I do?

  The headrest is also used to adjust the height of the shoulder belts. To adjust the headrest, you need to first open the belt buckle, flap it forward, and then loosen the shoulder belts. If you hold down the button behind the grey part of the cover, you can adjust the headrest by moving it up or down.

  I cannot recline the 2wayPearl installed forward facing in the sleeping position because it interferes with the car seat bench. What can I do?

  You can disconnect the ISOFIX anchors of the 2wayFix, place the 2wayPearl on it and put it in the sleeping position. Then, reconnect the ISOFIX anchors to the car.

  I notice that there is some play between the 2wayPearl and the 2wayFix. Is this safe?

  To ensure that the 2wayPearl can always easily be installed onto the 2wayFix there must be some play between the tubes and hooks. This play does not affect safety in any way whatsoever

  The 2wayPearl complies to i-Size legislation. What does that mean?

  i-Size is a new legislation that aims to make car seats even safer than before. An i-Size car seat offers ISOFIX installation, rearward facing travelling up to at least 15 months, and improved safety standards for additional head and neck protection.

  Where can I find the handle to adjust the recline position on the 2wayPearl?

  The recline handle can be found at the center-bottom at the front of the car seat.

  Why is the classification on the 2wayPearl height and not weight?

  The 2wayPearl complies to the new i-Size legislation and this change is part of i-Size. It is done in order to make it easier for parents to choose the right car seat for their child, and thereby minimize premature up-sizing of the car seat.

  Until what height can I use the maximum recline position in rearward facing with the 2wayPearl?

  When using the 2wayPearl in a rearward-facing position, the maximal recline position may only be used for a child with a maximum length of 97cm. 

  When should I make the transition from a Group 1 seat to a Group 2/3 seat?

  For the safety of your child, we recommend using the Group 1 car seat (9 months to 3 1/2 years/9-18 kg) for as long as possible. Wait to switch your child to a next stage car seat when your child has reached the maximum weight limit or if the top of your child’s head protrudes above the top edge of the seat. As long as the back of your child's head is fully supported by the shell, we advise against making the switch just yet, so that your child can be offered the best possible protection.

  Can I use a car seat on the front passenger seat?

  Child car seats can be placed on the front passenger seat, but the rear seat is preferable. When using a baby car seat (0-13 months) on the front passenger seat, make sure the seat does not have a frontal airbag or that the airbag has been deactivated. When using car seats for older children (9 months to 12 years), the front passenger seat must be in the rearmost position.

  What do I do if my Maxi-Cosi product needs to be repaired?

  If your Maxi-Cosi product fails due to a manufacturing or workmanship defect, we will either send you a replacement part or make a repair free of charge under our 24-month warranty or Lifetime Warranty. This also covers the cost of shipping. If the product cannot be repaired, or if the cost of repairing the item exceeds the cost of a new one, it will be replaced by another Maxi-Cosi of the same model and colour.

   

  If that is not available, it will be replaced by the closest model and available colour. If you made your purchase from a Maxi-Cosi authorized dealer, please take the item back to them to arrange for it to be repaired or replaced free of charge. If you bought it via this website, please get in touch with our customer care team. You’ll need your original purchase receipt and your Lifetime Warranty card if you are claiming under our Lifetime Warranty. If you are claiming under our 24-month warranty, you’ll need your original purchase receipt. Please note that repairs do not extend the warranty.

  What if I need a repair that is not covered under warranty?

  Repairs not covered under warranty include any damage caused by normal wear and tear, accidental damage, malicious damage, negligence, or if you do not follow the guidance set out in the user manual. If you bought the item second-hand you are also unable to claim under warranty.

   

  We’re committed to reducing waste and we want you to enjoy your Maxi-Cosi product for as long as possible. That’s why we offer a repairs service for all our customers. We keep repair costs as low as possible, but prices will vary due to the cost of the materials and the length of time it takes to do the repair. Repair rates can be obtained via your retailer or from our customer care team here. If the repair exceeds the standard rate you will be notified and asked for your authorization before we’ll proceed. We also sell spare parts, including replacement seat covers, which can help you to enjoy using your Maxi-Cosi product for as long as possible.

  How do I send my Maxi-Cosi in for repair?

  It’s easy to send your Maxi-Cosi for a repair. If you bought it from an authorized dealer, take it back to them. If you bought it via this website, please get in touch with our customer care team.. Remember, if you are claiming the repair under our 24-month warranty, you’ll need to show proof of purchase. If you are claiming it under our Lifetime Warranty, you’ll need proof of purchase and your Lifetime Warranty card, which was sent to you after registration.   How long will my repair take?

  We understand that life without your Maxi-Cosi product could be challenging for you and your family. That’s why we do our best to make repairs as quickly as possible. Our typical turnaround time is 2-3 business days, not including:

   

  • Special order parts, which require 7-10 business days.
  • Transit time, which may vary, depending on the destination.

  In some cases, we can get the repair back to you sooner. In rare cases, it may take longer. If you have returned your Maxi-Cosi product to your retailer for the repair, turnaround times may be longer.

  What is the warranty on my Maxi-Cosi product?

  When you buy a Maxi-Cosi product from our website or your Maxi-Cosi authorized dealer you can be confident that it will reach you in excellent condition. If not, we’ll put it right straight away.

  We promise that if a Maxi-Cosi product ever fails due to a manufacturing defect or workmanship, it will be repaired or replaced without charge, or a spare part will be sent to you.

  What is covered under warranty?

  Our standard warranty covers any manufacturing defects in materials and workmanship when used in normal conditions and in accordance with our user manuals.

  What is not covered by the warranty?

  Items not covered under warranty include any damage caused by normal wear and tear, accidental damage, malicious damage, negligence, or if you do not follow the guidance set out in the user manual.

  Examples of normal wear and tear include:

  • Wheels that have worn down through regular use.
  • The natural fading of colours over extended time and use.
  • Damage to the material as a result or daily use, such as rips, burns, holes, or worn patches.

  As part of our commitment to sustainability, we aim to help you extend the lifecycle of your Maxi-Cosi. So if your Maxi-Cosi product is damaged as a result of normal wear and tear or an accident, you can take advantage of our value for money repair service. We also sell spare parts, including replacement seat covers, to help your Maxi-Cosi product continue to be enjoyed for longer.
