Can I use the car seat in both rearward- and forward-facing positions?
Yes, the FamilyFix 360 base allows you to use compatible car seats in both rearward- and forward-facing positions.
We recommend keeping your child in a rearward-facing position from birth up to around 4 years old, as this is the safest option, reducing the risk of head, neck, and spinal injuries in a collision. If you prefer, you can switch to a forward-facing position once your child is at least 15 months old and seated in a suitable toddler car seat.
Please note that infant car seats must always be used in the rearward-facing position. To help prevent incorrect use, the base includes a built-in safety feature that stops the seat from being installed forward-facing when this is not allowed.
How do I know if the car seat base is safe and correctly installed in my car?
The base is safely installed in the car when you see green indicators in these locations: on both ISOFIX connectors, support leg on the floor and locked position of the rotating base. Besides the green indicators the clear clicking sound gives audible feedback.
How do I know if the Maxi-Cosi car seats are safely and correctly installed onto the base?
The car seats are safely installed on the base when you see green indicators for the car seat connection to the base. Besides the green indicators the clear clicking sound gives audible feedback.
Is it safe when the car seat base moves a bit when I shake it?
Yes, the seat is safe when all indicators are green — even if the base and/or seat moves slightly. Always check that all green indicators are visible to confirm correct installation in the car. If they are all green, the seat is properly installed and safe to use.
How do I operate the rotation function?
When the seat is in the driving position, you can unlock the rotation using one of the handles on either side of the base. When the seat is in the lateral position (facing the door), you can rotate it easily with one hand, without using a handle.
When you’re ready to drive, please make sure the car seat is fully rotated back to the rearward- or forward-facing position. When you hear a click, the car seat is locked and you’re ready to go.
Can I rotate the car seat in any position?
Yes, you can easily and safely rotate the seat in any position, from fully upright to fully reclined.
